VMware 在 11 號釋出 Fusion 的最新版本,2.0.2,

其中有幾項新功能是我比較感興趣的,摘錄給大家參考^^

1.可以將 Parallels Desktop 4.0 和 Parallels Server 產生的 Windows 虛擬機輸入,轉換成 Fusion 的虛擬機,減少重新安裝的時間。這是跟 Parallels 互相競爭下的產物,兩個可以轉來轉去的,對使用者而言絕對有利

2.終於支援 .dmg 當做光碟映像檔了,之前只支援 .iso 檔。這是此次更新讓我最喜歡的功能了

3.增加對於 Ubuntu 8.10 的支援,有了事先編譯好的 kernel modules,可以省下很多功夫,我想對於 Ubuntu 的愛用者而言,應該蠻高興的。

4.此次提供下載的 Fusion 有兩個版本,一個是有包含 McAfee VirusScan Plus 防毒軟體的版本,286 MB。沒有包含的,187 MB。我是下載沒有防毒軟體的版本,善用 snapshot,有沒有防毒軟體對我而言倒是不重要。

    大大~~~
    小弟原本想透過VMware的技術電話先自力救濟的
    可是被打敗了VMware的技術諮詢電話自動跳掉fusion的support
    整個傻眼

    只好上這邊跟您求救啦
    想當初會有勇氣買Mac和VMware
    也是在拜讀您的大作之後才鼓起勇氣的:)

    小弟剛買Macbook 2.0GHz沒多久
    已經跑去優仕把RAM加到4G了

    主要的原因是因為小弟在公司必須同時跑VMware fusion下的Win XP Pro
    才可以用公司的網路資源還有用Skype

    其實也可以直接用bootcamp
    只是這樣的話
    就不能同時用Mac OS了
    這樣根本是暴殄天物啊

    目前VMware使用狀況還算順利
    不過有幾個小問題
    1.用Skype時(VMware下的PC版 因為在Mac下無法在公司上skype) 只要是有訊息跳出來的瞬間 就會有很像"ㄘ"的一短聲雜音 在Win的環境把聲音關掉並沒用 要在Mac關靜音才聽不到雜音
    2.只有關上蓋(或直接在小蘋果下選睡眠)才有辦法進睡眠 睡眠燈才會呈呼吸狀 要不然雖然我有設定幾分鐘不動就會自動進入睡眠 但實際的狀況是螢幕全暗了(此時未將上蓋闔上) 但電腦沒進入睡眠 睡眠燈是一直亮著的 並不是呼吸般的漸明漸暗 剛剛把VMware暫停或關起來 就可以睡眠燈呼吸正常
    3.我已經有install VMware tools了 可是選單卻一直沒有將這個選項反白 這是正常的嗎?

    最後一個問題是有沒有什麼測試程式可以知道新裝的4G DDR3在Mac裡面是跑得非常順的? 我已經跑過Apple Hardware Test結果正常 我分了1個CPU還有1536MB給VMware跑Win XP Pro 但是Mac的活動監視器總是顯示系統記憶體有930~950MB是未啟用的...但是已使用的記憶體又標示為3.73GB...

  • 今天上午在辦公室再試一次Mac下的Skype

    可以log in ㄟ
    而且沒有刺耳的雜音跑出來
    徹底放棄Win 下跑Skype
    所以大大可以忽略小弟的第一個問題了

    關於睡眠燈
    我想我寫得太複雜了
    這麼說好了
    是不是只要用了VMware (或是您用的Virtual Box)
    機器就無法自動進入睡眠狀態
    我推測是即使Mac OS都沒有動作了
    但是虛擬的OS還在運作
    所以無法自動進入睡眠

    關於記憶體
    其實我最care的
    只在於記憶體是不是能和機器很相容而已
    難道只要機器抓得到這4GB DDR3的資料
    就表示記憶體和整台機器的搭配性沒問題嗎?
    所以想跟大大請教

    最後一個問題
    裝在高速的外接硬碟...
    大大
    可是USB的速度夠快嗎?
    小弟預算不夠
    沒法上有1394的版本...:P
  • 關於睡眠的問題,
    我剛剛試了一下,確實是只要有開啟,就無法進入睡眠狀態,
    我到 VMware Fusion 中的偏好設定也找不到相關選項,
    所以這算是正常的吧,不用擔心。

    記憶體的話,
    既然已經用 Apple Hardware Test 測試過,
    假如還是擔心的話,
    可以用 Rember 跑一遍,
    假如能夠 all pass,就不用太擔心啦。

    我也有用 USB 外接式硬碟測過,
    應該是可以接受的速度才對,
    不然你也可以直接將 文件 中的 XP(檔案很大),
    直接複製一份到外接式硬碟中測試,
    這樣就可以知道速度如何了 ^^

    我rember跑完了
    看來沒辦法測所有的記憶體 因為有的記憶體是正在使用中的:P

    我通常只關心有沒有出現「All tests passed!」
    沒問題的話,也不會去看詳細的 log,也看不懂 ^^"

    你是測兩個 loop 沒錯啦(真有耐心),
    記憶體沒問題啦,安心 ^^
